He segments the poems under three labels: Njia Poems (poems of consciousness), Unfundalais (poems of Africa’s poly-rhythms), Nubianics (love poems, and Heshima Poems (praise poems). The book also contains illustrations by the author himself – illustrations he refers to as “untaught art.”
